If you can do it that would be some nice group to compare, although custom loop is likely best of the lot.

Sounds like a good comparison, especially in terms of noise.
 
Just ordered a Dark Rock Pro 4 plus some Grizzly Kryonaut Thermal Compound for my new 8700k build...:)
Going be used in my Silverstone FT02 case (Unless I also buy a new case :p)


So that the DRP4 cpu cooler & 8700k cpu ordered..Now to work out which motherboard & Ram & NVME to go for...

Please report back if you use the FT02! I'll be using the same cooler and case combo in my upcoming build - would be nice to have an idea on temps, clearance issues etc in advance.

OK I try to remember too...

Is it a 8700k build you're doing ? and if yes do you know what motherboard your going for yet ?

Am struck on which one to pick out of these :confused:
Z370 AORUS Gaming 7
ROG Maximus X Hero
ROG Maximus X Code
ROG Maximus X Formula

Or I may just go for a cheaper board

EDIT: Ocuk just gone out of stock on the G.SKILL memory I was going to order :mad:

I'm torn between the 8700K and 2700X. Intel for the absolute best gaming performance in the short term vs buying into the AM4 platform that will allow a new CPU upgrade in a couple of years. Either way, I'll probably be looking at the ROG Strix boards.

Got it all fitted but haven't really done any tests yet as am still setting everything up (mainly all the software stuff & drivers) and also trying to learn the asus bios settings

Removing all PCIe back slot covers will increase back vent area and improve front to back airflow around GPU so it's heated air moves back and out of case instead of moving around GPU and back into GPU and into CPU coolers' cool airflow and warming it up. Every degree warmer the air into coolers is basically a degree hotter the component is. ;)
