OK, this is starting to be a joke now, they started out great, then the customer service issues, but the speed is terrible, packet loss, drop outs, anyone else experiencing the same at the moment?

I had been, but recently (touch wood) its been ok, also been better since we changed our house phone and I have it plugged in to the BT test socket

Drop outs as in losing sync? That's an issue between you and the exchange and much less likely to have anything to do with Be themselves.

Looking into it more, it seems that it isnt actual sync dropout's, but when browsing the web, every now then then i cannot load web pages "network timeout" which then results in me having to re-boot the router.

At the time i had a connection with the exchance, but nothing?

speed wise its been terrible, browsing is really slow, downloading from the web is below average and downloading from utorrent is bitterly slow even with a good seeded torrent.

It helps get a reasoned response if you state where you live!

My Be* connections fine and has been ever since I got it apart form when the DNS issues occured but that was months ago and havent had an issue since....

I'm with Be (in Belfast) and I've noticed some connectivity issues over the last couple of weeks. I'll get periods of no DNS response and when downloading from my news server, periods of no activity.

The line stays sync'ed throughout. I initially thought it was my BeBox starting to go so I picked up a DG834GT and swapped it in but it has made no real difference at all.

I was putting it down to a local Be issue, maybe the DSLAM in my Exchange and just hoping it would clear itself up - perhaps there are some network issues closer to the core?

Overall its not the end of the world for me - I just notice it because I usually have something downloading pretty constantly (even if its restricted on how much bandwidth its using).

If you're having to restart the router and it instantly fixes itself after that, it's probably an issue with your router.

What's the usual problems with routers?

I've been getting a problem with sky recently. During un-peak hours it's fine. Hit's peak hours and It's been incredibly slow or timing out. Turning the router of and on. Might fix it for a few mins. If I turn it off and leave it of for a while. then it seems to work for 30mins to an hour. Which makes me think it's a router problem. but then it seems to work all day fine. Just 6pm-9pm and on weekends during the day. Is there anything I need to check or anything which can suggest what maybe happening.

Any ideas, I detest [honing sky up, suppose I could send an email.

If its the one supplied by BE, they are prone to overheating all the time, also the speedtouch routers fall over when running torrent clients.

Im now using a Draytek 2820, but a Netgear 834GT worked great with a modded firmware.

I replaced my BeBox with a Netgear 834GT after suffering similar issues to the OP - a good upgrade, but don't expect a speed boost.

It's odd you should say this because in the past few days, I've been having drop outs and syncing at low speeds.

I just checked and I have
Line Attenuation 63.0 db 53.6 db
somehow compared to normally like 20db (with DG834GT DGTeam 848)

The router is a Netgear DG834GT (unbranded sky router & DGTeam firmware), iv never used the BeBox supplied.

About 2 months ago it seems that there was an outage on my Be* connection at the exchange end which went on through the night, previous to this my connection was fine, since then its been inconsistant in speed and although the router says it hasnt lost its sync with the exchange, i still get periods where it just wont load webpages or do anything until the router has been re-booted.

I dare say you have already done this, but check out the Be Forums - see if it is exchange specific. It may also be worth raising a trouble ticket with Be - although whether or not you'd get supported on a non-Be box is another matter...
