So, my Philips beard trimmer thingy has finally gone the way of the ghost after nearly four years of abuse and I'm now after a replacement.

My only requirement is that it's adjustable, isn't ludicrously expensive (<£30) and actually does a good job.

I'm currently looking at the Remington MB320C at £23 and the Philips QT4013-23 at £30.

Has anyone here used the above or do you have any suggestions also worth looking at?

Ta.

I've got a Remington touch control one, don't buy one they're rubbish - or at least the 'touch control' is. It also doesn't like being in a wet environment, like say a bathroom...

I have that and it does the job perfectly

I also have the Remington Barba and it's great. Just personally wish there was a length setting between 3 and 4 on the wheel.

I had a Babyliss i-Trim thingy a few years ago and I thought it was awful.

I use the Remington except mine has a flip up edge trimmer about 10mm wide and goes from 1 to 8 settings (I think). It has worked well although after five or six years, I may look for a newer one. I charge it before every alternate use, about once a month.

Everything I've ever had from remington has been a pile of crud, same with babyliss. Recently got something from wahl and it's a complete revelation, beard trimming is no longer a deplorable chore, it just works quickly and cleanly, doesn't get haired up inside, doesn't spray hair everywhere in a 2m radius etc.

The last remington I had went through three replacements in a year, all under warranty but talk about shoddy build quality.

Remington is what I been using for close to 5 years now to tidy up the crazy edges. In tragic news today the barber misunderstood "third off the beard" for "leave a third of the beard" but at least it grows back quick!

I had a similar experience with a woman barber many moons ago.

"Just a little trim with scissors please."

"Okay, no problem."

*Picks up clippers and takes nearly all of it off.*

Never let her near my hair again. :o

I used to have the Remington but now have the Phillips which I much prefer over the Remington. Seems to hold a charge better and produces a good finish. Used every week.
