beards cool or not?

It's not exactly fluff :p

Besides, i'd rather take the advice of various girls who've told me beard > shaven over a bunch of randoms on the internet who are probably just jealous they could never muster much more than bum fluff until they were 35 ;)

Maybe I'm being simple but if you've already got an answer that gives you the warm and fuzzies then why bother asking? It isn't exactly hard to predict the general response on here will be less than favourable.

On a wisened older gentleman with a weathered face, a well groomed beard is perfectly suitable.

On a younger man, in particular late teen / early twenties, it looks pathetic.

One could also say the same of a 22 year old Irish lad who dresses like a 45 year old English Gent...

I don't like beards on men at all. A little bit of stubble can be nice but it depends on my mood really, sometimes I prefer clean shaven and others a bit of stubble.

i guess the response was to be predicted, oh well I AM STAYING bearded for a while anyway i like to look different to most of the sheep about.

if you can grow a decent beard my advice give it try

I'm like that, I'm 22 but look about 8. My dignity is worth the inconvenience of pulling out my ID occasionally. I'd never lower myself to the realms of bearddom until I'm at least 45 because until then any facial hair will look more like pubic hair as it does on almost every younger person apart from blacks and Arabs / Indians.

Well I'm 29 and that still happens a lot, can't grow a beard to look older though :p

Beard. All the time. It's natural. It's how we are supposed to be. I feel naked without some sort of facial hair.

I've had some form of facial hair since I was around 15. It grows fast so I keep changing it. Currently clean shaven other than a 3 1/2" long chinbeard.

I look about a year older than Scusi without a beard :/

Until yesterday I had a wild forest of a beard to keep me warm, now I've trimmed it back a bit and it's more like a well maintained garden.

As the weather improves and it gets warmer I'll progressively trim it back as needed, first to go are the cheeks, then the sideburns until by the summer I have a goatee, if it gets really warm I'll just keep the mustache.

I like having a beard as it increases the % coverage of hair on my head and detracts attention from my growing bald patch. :D

The thing is, I don't actually dress like that. You, however, do have a pube ridden face.

Take the hint, hippy.

I have a kinda stubbley goatee,if I let it grow for more then about a week it starts turning ginger so have to keep it trimmed. :(

I have pretty much sported a beard of one description or another since I was about 20 (now 35) ..I just hate shaving ! ..I usually let it get so long then shave it off and let it grow again...d I actually quite like the fact that a large part of it is going grey now ....pity it doesnt make me look more like sean Connery :D
