beards cool or not?

Whats you take on beards, full beards cool or not I have just grown a nice big full beard and love it but I seem to get some strange looks from people I know its unusual to see men under 50 with beards (I'm 33) .

so whats your view?
 
Depends on the beard and the person, some people naturally suit beards and others don't so in a total cop-out there is no simple answer. I don't want a beard myself at the moment but there isn't anything particularly wrong with them either.
 
I've had a beard for the last 16 years. I did have a 1 week break some years back. People just kept telling me how I looked younger but also how much they preferred me with the beard.

Weird. Also, chicks in their 20's will also think it's weird! Good luck.
 
On a wisened older gentleman with a weathered face, a well groomed beard is perfectly suitable.

On a younger man, in particular late teen / early twenties, it looks pathetic. Especially on those students who think growing a beard which looks like a pubescent gipsy's genitals makes them "cool".
 
Not a good choice imho.

Only works if you can carry the look, ie: Brian Blessed, Buster Merryfield or David Bellamy.

Younger people with beards, makes you look a bit of a breast!

When your younger then no. For instance, teenagers and people in their early 20s generally look like total pratts. Although some do manage to pull it off.
 
well i'm 33 and my GF(24) loves it gets her all horny was the reason i grew it as she pestered me too now i have i quite like it :)
