Beards

I've been bearded for about 2.5 years now, all because I gave up shaving while I was writing my masters thesis. It's a bit weak and patchy, but passes as decent enough!

Just been for a haircut and the girl trimmed my beard while she was on. First time that's happened to me. So I gave her a nice tip.

I remember getting a haircut a few years back and my barber said "your beard is getting a bit Geoff Capes, would you like a trim'. He was right, it was. I did accept his kind offer.

Had a beard for as long as ive been able to grow one, unfortunately i suffer from the syndrome i'm sure many here could relate with where shaving the beard off takes me from looking exactly as old as i am, to looking about twelve.

I did once shave it after an unfortunate shaky hands trimming a big chunk off moment and the instant i'd finished i was already definite it was coming back.

Dont bother with beard oil, just the same treatment the rest of me gets and the occasional trim of the sideburns to stop me looking amish.

Wish i could grow a decent moustache though :(

^ I suffer from that too my driving license looks nothing like me anymore.

I've seen people see each other in the street and shout "velcro" and rub there beards together I thought I would share that with y'all

Does anyone get that awkward look when you make eye contact with another beard?

My beard had a good couple of inches taken off it a few weeks ago, getting to a nice length again now ready for xmas party time.

I've had a few girls at work comment on the beard looking good, i think the wife likes it as long as I keep the neck/sides trimmed.

It's normally blokes when you're out going "Nice beard!" as they walk past. I walked into a pub once and i just heard "BBBEEEAAARRRDDD" shouted at the top of this guys voice, he looked like a massive fat viking and came straight over to our group. Started stroking my beard and saying how soft it was and what did I do etc. Never met him before and never seen him since.

Awkward eye contact though, that depends more on the whole person than the beard.

If it's a mans beard then you don't really do anything but if I spot some elasticated trouser bottom, shoe but no sock wearing nancy boy trying to be cool I just ignore them.

Anyone worried about itching. Wash it daily with womans shampoo, then use their conditioner, it'll keep it nice and soft while it grows. Although once it's established now I find that washing it keeps it soft for a few hours afterwards, but just leaving it and not using shampoo does a much better job of keeping it naturally soft.

Also, you'll have to learn to blow your nose properly after you've started growing one so you don't end up with a moustache full of snot!

When you've shaved your beard but you still want to mix it up with a little moustache action:

Chopper :D

Mine never itchs. Dont use anything on it either. I just trim it once a week to keep it in shape. Too many blokes look like tramps with their unkept beards.

I remember my days of "cat whiskers" that was funny.. Now as today had a grade 1 haircut and beard, no more moustache. That just will NOT grow in the middle under my nose! Why? that little bumpy bit..

Never got past about a week, becomes unbearably uncomfortable and itchy and I feel like a tramp.

Same,The face hair is okay...its around the throat area that annoys me,i know i could shave below there and trim it up a bit but meh,Too much faff..off it goes.

cant beat the freshly shaven clean feel. :D
