Does Beckham deserve to be in the squad?

Can I have a yes/no poll please mods?

Personally I think he does. He always gives 110% and is still playing well despite being in America. It is a little of a swansong for him IMO but I think he deserves it for his previous efforts and I think he is still good enough to get the uk squad to the obligatory quarter final knockout :p

I think Beckham should be an absolutely cert. Just sending the young players won't achieve anything, and I think Beckham is probably the best current role model/experienced head for the younger players to have around them.

If (and this is a big if) Beckham is still up to the same standard I saw him at the start of the season then forget the Olympics Beckham should be going to the Euro's as he's still better than both Lampard and Gerrard. Okay maybe you'd only get the very best out of him by playing him in every 1 in 4 due to the frequency of the fixtures but he's surely still one of the better options?

Given Wilshire's out, Rodwell's out, Cleverley has barely played any football I can see the midfield choices being limited to Barry, Lampard, Gerrard, Parker and maybe Jones & Henderson for the Euro's so tell me Beckham wouldn't be a better option than some of those?

Don't see why he isn't being considered for the Euro's tbh.
If he's not in that team then the Olympic team is a cert surely

He thoroughly deserves a place not just based in his performances but on his role as ambassador and role model. I wouldn’t mind seeing him in the Euro 2012 squad as well.

Seems like a strange rule though what's the purpose of an age limit? Steve Redgrave would have only ever won one olympic gold if it applied to rowing.

I don't think football should be in the Olympics at all. The Euros and WC are enough.

Pander to a "has been" that moved to LA so his wife could be a fashion designer

Plenty of worthy older players in Great Britain

I donlt see why not, it's hardly a serious tournament and if it adds a bit of appeal to folks attending the games then no harm in that
