BECOME AN OFFICIAL OcUK REVIEWER & WIN SAPPHIRE HD 5970, 5870, 5850 & 5770 GFX CARDS

nice comp but reviews and long essays aint my thing :( i wish there was something easy like "find the most weird shaped leaf and take a picture of it to win a 5970"

Its a few hundred words and some images. Not what I would call a long essay. Very nice competition and one I will certainly be making an effort to enter.

I wonder how many reviews Mr Napier will read of the Fractal Design R2 before he gives up the will to live? ;)

*goes off in search of affordable, new, and interesting products*

EDIT: Yep, I agree with Diggsy that a 1000 word review really isn't an essay by my reckoning. Hell, it might be fun!

Is there a set date for last entry? I see that the prizes are announced on the 14th of March, but I take it you need to submit before then. I'm about to get a new PSU, so could review that!

Trifid, I stand ready to be corrected by Spie if I'm wrong, but I would guess that they're more interested in how we review something objectively, and our writing style and clarity, as opposed to what it is. At least for the purposes of this initial competition.

(Stands back and waits for Spie to tell him how far off the mark he is!).

Correct :)

Meh , I know I could do this well. But my computer knowledge simply isn't enough to be able to give an informative review.

It says in the review guide it doesn't have to be but you have to provide a link to the best price you can find.

That will be easy, as only one place sells it, the manufacturer!

It doesn't have to be something we sell at all as long as it is computer based.

That it is and fits in your computer peripheral line perfectly. Looking at the review guide my ideas of how I wanted to review it fit perfectly around the guide. Especially the packaging side of it. ;)

Sounds like a great competition that will get guys more involved, hand out great prizes and even net some pretty cool contract possibly. I'd love to enter and have fun with it :D

I think I'll review my girlfriends laptop since it's got various components to talk about and meets the criteria of being computer related. Hopefully I'll win a nice card lol.

I've done reviews before for a website about video games and I enjoyed it till I left to concentrate on school work.

I've written some un-bias reviews for a camera website, but one of my reviews got blanked due to me faulting a product from a manufacturer that sponsored said site.

Guess you have to find the ultimate balance of being honest but still being able to promote products.

That being said, every sapphire product I've owned so far has been good
