This is massive PR mate, this is a huge advertisement scheme and they also get free questions to answer on hardware

it's not like ocUK are going to start selling review samples for their 10 official forum reviewers, it's probably just easiest for them to let you keep it.

A) ocUK is a company, they're not going to randomly decide to give away £2000 of hardware and then more to the reviewers
B) Most people, from my understanding, didn't ask too much about hardware, and more about Sapphire as a company and the future of gaming in general, neither of which are things that will help sell the products on ocUK.
C) Why would ocUK advertise themselves on their own forums? :D Everyone here knows who Sapphire and ocUK are, it's not advertising so much as expansion and community involvement.

I was just replying to him. It doesn't really matter if the product is sent and then sent back.

I have no idea why I'm excited, I knew I didn't stand a chance yet since the day I sent my entry in I've been really excited, I'll just disappoint myself.

I do understand, but, I'll try and avoid an arguement.

Your "business studies" don't actually cover everything here. When a company has a community, they do not need to advertise to that community, generally the community is knowledgeable enough about their products that they can and will form their own opinion.

If ocUK wanted to use this as advertising, the £2000 could have been much better spent elsewhere, what this is more about is appealing to a community, to perhaps move more of them to loyal ocUK shoppers rather than just forum members.

Obviously ocUK are aiming to profit from this competition eventually, but I, and I'm sure at least 95% of the forum agree with me on this, much prefer it like this than had they just started advertising on, say, youtube. :)

Back to dreams of 5800 cards and off of the logistics and inherent evils of business :D

Either this thread got a lot of attention from outsiders or there has been a large quantity of F5 keys hit ;)

2.4k views was the largest there, until this thread came along with 32.7k.
