bed

I run with a duvet, then a sheet with fluffy things on it and then my sheet. It's proper comfy! A lot comfier than my GFs cheap foam mattress thing from ikea, god those are like....hell! Springy beds give way better bounceback!

I have the exact same sheet OP, works a treat between October > March when its cold.

Some people put a duvet under the sheets of the bed to make it more comfy.
Hi, that's me. :) Did this for 4 years at Uni as the beds in the halls of residence were crap and lumpy. A duvet under the bed sheet was a must to soften it up and give me a chance of actually get some sleep.

Current kingsize bed was about £600 for the frame and £1200 for the mattress, comfiest bed i've ever slept in! Only needs a sheet over it as it's already really comfy!

Mine is from top layer to bottom:

Throw over
Duvet
Me
Sheet
Small blanket
Electric blanket
Big duvet
Matress

It's immensely comfy :p

We bought one a year ago and we are replacing it already. It is a good mattress but we just don't like it. We've finally had enough and bought a new pocketsprung mattress a couple of weeks ago and are waiting for it to arrive.
Very galling spending £800 on a mattress only a year after spending £500 on the previous one. Tried lots of cheaper mattresses but they were all naff.

Where people go wrong with mattresses is getting the head round the price. A mattress should be replaced at least every 10 years minimum.

This bit always surprises people. People will gladly spend for in excess of the cost of a mattress and replace it far more often on a sofa yet you spend more time using the mattress and is so crucial to a good nights sleep and how you feel during a day.

The last mattress we bought was £800 and i don't regret spending every penny of that yet still I was happy spending £2000 on two sofas for the lounge cause people see them but even I would have borked spending £2000 on a mattress yet you should always spend more money on your mattress and your sofa.

Thing is that's an awful lot of money for a lot of people. ATM I would rather pay £80 but replace it more often.

Big mistake. How much was yoru sofa? You should spend at least that. I bet any money you spend more on your sofa which is wrong.

And the last time I was bed shopping you can really tell the difference between a £80 mattress and a £200 mattress never mind a £800 one.

A £80 mattress is flase economy as over time you will spend as much as a more espensive one while never having the comfort or a good nights sleep that a more expensive one brings.

.

£20 for 2

I know what you're saying but until I get a house. I'm not going to spend lots and can sleep perfectly well on a cheap mattress as long as it's a fairly firm one. This one is pretty dead now but it's lasted 5years. Which is pretty darn good for £80.

We have a £50 mattress on our spare bed and it's crap. Utter rubbish. I didn't choose it, and I'm waiting till my wife is in a good enough mood that I can suggest we sling it and at least spend £100 on one. It's only the spare bed, but I wouldn't want to visit and sleep on it.

Get a better mattress. I like the foam ones, got one from homebase and brought it home in the car (easier than having a hulking great thing delivered and having time off).

I find this is sort of essential with cheap ****ed mattresses, but lately I have been sleeping on top of my duvet due to the temperature. This also has the added advantage of me automatically mooning anyone who should walk into my room unannounced, which never actually happens given that I live on my own. :(
