Went to a mini house party with a couple of mates (only about 7 of us in total) and was drinking a bit and having a generally nice time. It was getting late and i lived around 3 miles away which i didn't fancy walking so i rang my brother and he pcked me up. We both decided that we were hungry so i said i'd shout us to a burger at the local Kebab House.

I went in and ordered and i saw someone outside in a car so i went and said hello to her as she was a very old school friend and is cousins with someone who i used to be best mates with. We chatted about where we were working etc... and out of no where her boyfriend walked out of the Kebab house, said "don't talk to my girlfriend" and hit me in my jaw/lip (which is now swelling up quite nicely lol).

I then walked off to my brothers car and rang the police and gave them the car's numberplate and luckily i know the guy's name as i actually went to school with, and now work with his sister and i know that he has a criminal record and has been inside before.

Why do people do this? I was harmlessly chatting to an old friend and he obviously got jealous.

How far can i push this as i want to press charges and take this as far as i possibly can.

As i said, he has been inside before and has got a criminal record so what is likely to happen?

The police will be round my house tomorrow morning for a statement etc...

I'm not in pain really, i'm just annoyed that their are people around who do this and it really bugs me that they are not inside for longer :(

Push for all the punishment you can dish out to the sod!

Far too often people are assaulted by people they know. They don't bother pressing charges or even informing the police because it's seen as a waste of time or they feel like a grass.

That really sucks, makes me wonder what's the world coming to, why in gods name would you even consider punching someone without knowing what is happening, terrible.

I'd of punched you too. ;)

So would I :p

Seriously though, sorry to hear this happened to ya mate. Take it as far as you can, hope the ******* gets whats coming to him. Its a crazy world these days.

As has been said, don't let the polie fob you off, get the guy back inside then **** his bird :p

If that's exactly what happened, press for all you can press for. Am sick of guys who let their jealousy and emotion get the better of them. Most times i see a guy eyeingg my woman and i catch them doing that, i just smile and say "she looks nice isnt.....? they usaully say Yes and walk away! Simple and effective, no need ofr violence.

you should have captain kirk karete chopped him but yeah get the toerag done as much as you can, back to prison with him!

It might not be as black & white as that - life generally isn't.

Sorry to hear about that dude.

It might be worth taking photographs of your injury if you're considering pressing charges?
The OB will do this if your pressing charges.

Andy, read the second post, that's all you need to know/do.

well if you push which you should do he'll probably end up with a £100 fine if Labour get there way

thats been happening for years, just after i left school i went to the schools youth club with a few mates to see a few people we knew, as we were leaving the elder brother of a bloke i didn't get on with came out of no where and started to smack me round the head with a fence post, i eventually managed to get away and one of my mates parents took me to hospital where my head was stiched up and was then taken round the local nick where i gave a statement ect.

About six months later a letter landed on the mat stating that he had been taken to court and had to pay me £100 at a rate of $5 per week  and this is despite the fact that i know he has been done for attacking at least 6 people before and has never had anything more than a fine  whats more anoying though is that the police didn't even tell me he was going to court or give me a chance to give evidence against him.

I got beaten up by 5 people all bigger than me on friday night walking around my local village from one friend's house to another for no reason, they only stopped when their friends stepped in(I was pretty glad for this).

Never seen these people before, was doing nothing wrong, they just came (typical small man-syndrome, the smallest one started it, then called his friends over who were larger than me.)

All the lumps on my head are in my temples or the back of my head(got hit 10+ times and was nearly knocked out, till i went to the ground and their friends stepped in), so as the police woman couldn't see them she can't do abh. However, my two friends who both only got one hit each were both smacked in the face, one got a bloody nose and the other a proper style black eye + cut, so they could, but apparently we'd have to go to court if they denied it, which they would, so there's no point pressing charges.

I can't open my mouth much because my temple muscles are too stiff.

Such pussies though. 5 on 1 in the dark from behind.

No idea what they get out of it. Not exactly a 'hard' thing to do. I didn't even hit them once in retaliation(thought that would escalate the situation even more).
