BUT.... i have his address.

i sold somthing which theyve claimed is fake, i sold it as new and sealed, they opened it and claimed its fake, then claimed it must be 10 years old lol, every single email he sent he slips up with every word, yet ebay took his side regardless as he was the buyer, inaway i got really annoyed and just refunded the tool. i have his address and i think me might be interested in some reading material, anybody know of any were i can sign him up to some funny mail?

Do they live near you? Do they have your address? What was the item worth? Are they going to post the "fake" item back to you?

Surely you get the item back when eBay refund a buyer? Honestly I'd just move on, some people are a waste of time and energy.

I know it won't help now... but I really hate eBay. if you are running a business I guess jokers like this just have to be factored into your costs.

if it is as a private seller I personally sell my stuff on forums that I am a member of with classifieds. no fees and IME people are more honest and only complain when they have a genuine issue , and even then the expectation is you work things out together if possible without things getting nasty.

I had this a few weeks back. Claimed non receipt - I had mislaid the signed for slips.
He got a full refund for a few expensive pokemon cards my son was selling on my account, despite nothing fraudulent ever happening with my account and I have about 4000 feedback.
The guy lived in Portsmouth so I googled "rough areas in Portsmouth"
I told him I knew a guy from the area and he would be coming round in the next few days for a chat.
To my absolute surprise, this worked.
He said the postman had put the package somewhere odd and he sent me all the money straight away.
It made my day, it really did !

An excellent addition to things that never happened.

im not a buisness and the item wasnt something that cost hundreds lol, it just annoyed me at how plain and simple he quite clearly been a ****. as for police, that really is a dead end, not once have they EVER helped with anything. we live in a world now were if you want it doing, do it your self.

the item its self was aftershave, he claimed that it was brilliant and he always buys it, first of it had the smell of legit aftershave, but only lasted 15 minutes, 2 days later it then lasted 4 hours... and on the refund he claimed it lasted 30 minutes. he then decided to tell me when bought some from boots and it smells nothing like the stuff i sent him, im like hang on pal... when you first got it you loved it and given you always use it you would have know it wasnt the same smell. even had the cheek to tell me i should have advertised it as old and fake LOL . i had sold 2 other items and ebay froze my money from been paid out untill i refunded him , and the 2 items was worth more than the aftershave. he even told me he had thrown the item out but still wanted a refund... ye im sure you did pal. ebay still took his side. i really should just close my ebay account and stick to amazon

Assuming that is the full story (and i dont doubt you) that is an absolute disgrace. I have sold a handful of items on ebay and gotten lucky this this just further confirms it is not a good place for sellers. (great for buyers i guess).

I've sold hundreds of items and luckily never had an obvious fraud case. I've had people claim non delivery but royal mail has paid out. So these could have been legit.

I had once what I thought was going to be a scam. But it was just an idiot. (bought a gpu and claimed it didn't work. Had to walk him through it. Turned out he hadn't plugged in the 6 pin power)

Had some 0 feed back buyers. And I just didn't send the item. Was one of those "-0" ending accounts.
If in doubt, I just don't send it. Just say "lost in the post" and refund them!

But luckily not been hit by a scam. There's always a first time.

And yes. Almost always ebay sides with the buyer. Even videoing you posting the parcel isn't enough apparently
