Hello guys, I Have been out the loop for a while for hardware as my pc been running fine for a while. So i need your guys help. I’m thinking of building a new system I have put a spec below, the reason for upgrade is my screen is failing (screen burn), want a new case as the thermeltake is making some weird vibration noises. I’m not sure to take some parts out of my old pc, such as Powersupply? sound card? even the graphics card as i don’t do much gaming.

Main usage of my PC is,
Encoding dvds
Watching Videos
Music
General use
Some games now and again, but its not a big thing for me anymore
But would like something fast, and a really nice screen, and allot of usb connections

cpu wont fit the motherboard, you need the 950 or 930 cpu.
You can afford to drop the psu down a size.

yeh i dont think i was looking correcltly my bad put in a Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz (Bloomfield) (Socket LGA1366) - Retail, do u think it woul be good to use some of my old parts?

yes, no need for that sound card when you already have a x-fi

PSU should be ok.

graphiocs card will be ok too.

Well i have a thermeltake tough power 750watt, sound is important as i have logitech z5500 speaker set up, and also have a 3870x2 graphics card, would that be fine for general use?

what x-fi is it? I know some of the cheaper ones are just re-named Audigy cards and dont have the same sound processor that makes the x-fi what it is.

Yep thats the one? so re use graphics? power supply, Sound card.? the reason i choose the mobo it looks like it can clock well, and it has a lot usb, i want a rock solid system!

If i re use power supply, graphics card, and sound card, brings down the price.

Yeh, i always find having a decent screen for a pc is essential. whats the point of having all this pro hardware and then having a basic screen, current screen i got is a 20inch NEC 20wgx which is great but would like a bigger screen, but not to lose quality. How many usb does the Asus P6X58D-E? because i got a lot of devices for usb

I believe this has the same amount as the original on specced, 8 USB 2.0 and 2 Usb 3 slots on board.
