Apparently iv been refused a loan after a meeting i had with the provider. I talked about how my £40/month travel allowance isn't significant enough to pay my buses or the fuel for my bike each month. I provided receipts and bus tickets but they still continue to believe £40 is enough?

A return from my house to college costs me £6, i goto college 3 days a week but i some times go in 5 days a week for extra revision. Fuel for my bike is £5 a week but when i go in 5 days its usely £8 so matter what i use im using up my £40 and thats excluding my lunches, £18/m phone bill. Some people are getting £200+ from the college and there parents earn more, mines only earn around £22k/year together. I am currently trying to get a job but i cant get anything where i can go into the days im not at college or even weekends.

Im about to apply for a hardship fund but i expect to get refused from that as well just like last year. Getting funding for higher education is harder than i thought. I cant apply for a bursary at the college as they only do further education not higher.

I cant leave the course because ill end up having to pay the tuition fees back and the travel allowance money back :( im stuck in a rut here.
Anyone know of a good company that will fund education no matter what college/country/course etcetc?

On the back of my funding certificate it says parents contribution £850. If that would ever happen i would be in my dreamworld.

Student loan?

Mate you cant have that untill your a real student in the eyes of the banks and goverment... You need to be at Uni.

once you hit uni you will get around 7k to play with.

Are you going to uni aswel? whats the point in racking up a load of debt before you get to uni, then racking up a load more debt.

Pointless

I managed to get through collage with a part time job, could have done uni aswel with a part time job but I was stupid and got a loan and an overdraft.

i too am curious why he's expecting student funding for his transport and phone bill - i thought it was for costs related to the course?

Get a part-time job like any respectable student

Part time job

1 evening shift a week working at a restaurant would get you ~£40 a shift = £160 a month

Don't get a bank loan for this

Also, how come you made a new account?

I had job whilst at college to run a car. Just a couple of evenings a week and weekend day in retail.
