So you basically now have a more fuel efficient, cheaper to service, M3?![]()
This is what has put me off buying a M3, I have 90% of the power but for half the running cost.
I don't want to come across as trying to stick up for my car, but its not really the same as an M3 is it. Just because they have close to matching power, the drive in both of them is night and day.
I do understand the M3 is a much better car I just don't know if its worth justifying twice the running costs over a mapped 335i.
The M3 is more of a head turner IMO, given on paper the performance is similar, on a track the M3 would annihilate the 335i

they aren't sequential turbos are they? i'm fairly sure that they spool at the same time
There is a little bit more to an M3 than an increase in power. An M3 would in no way "annihilate" a 400bhp 335i on track or off. The M3 us without doubt the superior car and would put in a faster lap, but not by much at all.
When you are racing against 400bhp cars you need serious performance to "annihilate" something. For instance, I would say a GTR would "annihilate" a 400bhp 335i, not a stock M3.

Just out of interest, how does remapping affect BMW warranties? Do you have one?
I assume it makes them null and void.

BUT, if it were me I'd buy the 335i no question about it. I love the discreet power that is held within the car. To which most it just looks like another 3 series, unless you are a petrolhead...
I'm astounded at the price the 335i can be had, is there an equivalent RS4 sleeper in the Audi range?
