Beginner Z68AP-D3 guide for Intel i5 2500k

Hi there.

I have used this motherboard for a while now 2011 and I recently decided to buy more memory. I set my sight on 2 X 8gb Team Vulcan DDR3 2133.

And I can't get it to work at anything but 1600, I have tried a few things on the thread with no success so I am back to having most of everything on auto.

Z68AP-D3 (rev 1.0) Bios F8
Multiplier 42
Bus 100mhz
i5 2500k

16GB (2X8Gb) DDR3 2133 CL10-12-12-31 1.65V

When I have tried 2133 it usually doesn't post 9fans on shortly and off)

Wondering before I start playing around with Voltage and else, whether there is an obvious issue with the MB or bios for example, not sure if anybody else has run 2133 on this and could help!

Realise this is an old thread but I have used the settings in this post to re overclock mine (was the battlefield system purchased from here) after losing the original overclock but have some interesting results in task manager.

I used the settings for the 4.4 overclock but its the same even if I just change the cpu ratio



These seem a bit high and have turned the overclock off for now as I dont know if its a glitch in windows 10. I even redid the settings and still the same.

I was using this board and CPU before sidegrading to Skylake, and can confirm Windows shows a much higher frequency that it was actually running at, no issues observed from this.
I am almost certain it used to show correctly, perhaps an update changed this.
