Insurance last year - £2300
Insurance this year - £840

How could one extra year much such a difference!!

i went through a similar sinario matey.

when i gained 2 yrs driving xp instead of 1.5 my insurance dropped from 1200 as second driver to 780 in my own name. hoping when my renewal comes through this year now im 21 with 3 yrs xp and hopefully a years no claims it will drop further :)

Its not just being 21, I presume you have another year of ncb now or one instead of none even ?

Who are you dealing with, is it a direct insurer or is the company different this year?

It didn't make that much of a difference for me unfortunately.
20 - £1550 TPFT
21 - £1400 Fully comp.

Still a nice reduction though considering Fully comp when I was 20 was well over £2200.
A word of advice to you all, avoid getting a CD10 on your licence :(

whats a cd10? cba to look it up

It's the conviction code for "Driving Without Due Care and Attention".

It sucks. My insurance with it declared is £1400 at the minute and a quote without was ~£950 :(

So your insurance dropped £80 and you think it didnt make much of a difference? :p

Technically it only dropped £150 since I was mad enough to have TPFT on my car for a year :o It's such a relief to have fully comp again though.

Mine drops to 1k TPFT from 1700 TPFT, thats with my first year 0 years license, 0 years NCB at 20.

So next year looking at 1 year license, 1 year ncb, and 21.

Sucks :(

I must say that mine has been pretty good, my first year of driving was £1500 with a group 1 car. This year its £1000 with one crash and a group 7 car, however i did change insurers, had i stayed with the original one it would have gone up to £2200  without the new car.

Ah yes, mine is group 13..... but nobody steals rovers. :o

Gone from 1 years NCB to 2.
Was with Norwich union which was the cheapest, now with admiral as NU wanted about £50 less than last year, admiral undercut them by over a grand :)

i take it none of you chaps are in northern ireland?? Its mad over here.. im 21 and still paying about £1300 for a 1.25 Fiesta Zetec - It was well over £2k when i started driving at 17.

It really is madness. A girl the same age and circumstances would easily get it for half the price

I've done my penance with car insurance back home :p
When I was 19 I had a 2001 VW Passat 1.9TDi. I had it insured with Quinn Direct TPFT for a rather shocking £3200. I was so happy to see my insurance cost half with a change of postcode to England :D

Yeah, come renewal I'll be paying under a grand for my insurance (finally) since turning 21 in October. That's HALF of what I'm paying now.

21 F.T.W :D

Bloody hell you must either live in the ghetto or have a lot of points

0 points... somehow, but I live in Manchester.

Currently paying £1600 for my car with the mods declared. Come renewal it'll be £800... or at least it *should* have been. :(
