Being done for speeding

I would be careful how you deal with this as the summons could have a typo that will quickly be corrected in court. If they have video evidence of you doing 56mph you are unlikely to get this overturned in court.

You don't mention what speed you were doing as you went past the camera van the second time, they can prosecute drivers for speeding in either direction of the van.

Happened in August, I was travelling on a 40 mph road when an approaching van flashed me.

Sensing something was up, I slowed down. Went around a corner and there was a speed detection van. I went past him at a legal speed and then just over an hour later, went back the other way, this time giving him a wave.

Six weeks later, I get a letter saying I was travelling at 56 in a 40, but in the opposite direction to where I was going.

I replied confirming I was the driver and asked for a photograph, also denying I was travelling in the direction indicated.

They have now sent me a summons and changed the speed, stating that I was travelling at 40mph, in a 40mph limit :p

I had a similar incident, only I drove past a VOSA site that was pulling lorries in, carried on doing 50 ( I was in a van) then drove past a lay by about 500 years later with a copper pointing a speed gun at me.

I gave him a wave and 30 seconds later another copper pulled me over accusing me of being on my mobile phone and tried to give me a ticket.

I posted about it on here at the time, I made such a fuss he gave up and did one.
