I don't think Vettel was at fault there, he can't see the inside from there. What's he meant to do, leave space for two-three cars just in case? He's a racer, can't give up places for nothing.

Max should not have took the inside, was no way to make the corner like that.

So now Lewis and Alonso have a dilemma regarding tyres.

Rosberg gets a free change from his ageing softs, as does Ricci.

Do you keep the mediums on to do another ~10 or so laps, or swap to a fresh set of something? Maybe fresh mediums, with a short stint of supers at the race end?

I think Hulk fitted mediums at the start of the SC period.

ham has a bit of an advantage, he has used one compound, those in front will have to go onto the slower medium or the short life super soft. Ham can use his new softs for the rest of the race. Podium is on!

Come on there was space when he went down the inside. Why does there alwyas need to be blame. Typical first corner accident,to many cars not enough road.

MV went for the gap, risky and I'd say he's partly to blame but Vettel should never have turned in there, bone headed move you have to expect first corner that somebody might dive up the inside. Feel sorry for Kimi he was looking super quick.

Yeah, this. Vettel was on the outside with two cars, including his teammate, on the inside. He should have realised he needed to take a wider line, instead he turned straight into Kimi who had nowhere to go and ended up clipping Max and ruining his race too.

yes, exactly, he knew that two cars were somewhere on the inside because he just passed two cars a few dozen meters earlier. If you come down that whole straight and one car is 100m back the whole way you can take whatever line you want. On the start, having just passed two cars on your inside... think there might be cars on the inside because not doing so is stupid. Unless you are sure you are beyond them if you've gone past them on the outside... stay outside, absolutely no reason not too.

Will the race get back all those SC laps because of the red flag, or does race start from how many of the 44 laps are left from when the red flag came out?

Does anyone else think that barrier repair looks insanely unsafe btw? It's loose, the end of it is certainly not fully stacked tires, they look loose and not tightly packed. If another car hits their the tires aren't going to stay together, they'll move, car will go between tires and it will be horrific. Considering what they did in silverstone the other year, which was the right thing, take ages to fix it right. They've rushed it despite the fact they had like a further 10minutes to bring more tires and fix it better.

Starts where the red flag finished.... they should have red flagged straight away both because it was unsafe and it was pretty obvious they were going to red flag so they've screwed loads of drivers who pitted.
