Naaaah, they were in those positions on merit, they won them on Sat.
Just the way the sport works. There was a race and a result.
The positions are earned. The teams and sport have to have a result, this is it!

And at Indy the cars themselves chose not to race. They could have gone out and pulled off the racing line and slowed for the banking.

I am clearly a nutcase, as I have had a lovely afternoon, really enjoyed it! Sure not as much as an actual race, but it's been bizarre, shocking, fun and unpredictable.

It will go down in history as one of the strangest races ever

I'd rather the rules were otherwise, but I don't hold celebrating against the teams and drivers. They compete under the rules as they are, and they worked hard all weekend to get what they could.

F1 I inheriantly much more dangerous than most other sports in perfect conditions. To add an obvious danger where drivers physically cannot see the other cars isn't dangerous, it's completly wreck less to send them out.

Happened the other way round in 1984. Monaco only awarded half points, Prost won Moncao then lost by 0.5 to his team mate Lauda.

Yeah, they do. And it's happened in the past. Lauda beat Prost by 0.5 in 1984.
