Red Bull had asked for fresh tyres because both cars blistered fronts. They're not going to get them. Bad news for Vett and Web #BBCF1

So some get to change tyres but others can't, what idiocy. If you blister your tyres that's your own fault and you start from the pit lane or pit after a few laps.

BBC Sport's Andrew Benson at Spa-Francorchamps: "There has been a bit of a brewing controversy this morning. Both Red Bulls blistered both front tyres in qualifying, and the team asked to be allowed fresh tyres on safety grounds. Pirelli brought 17 new tyres to the track 'for possible use'. But race director Charlie Whiting has decided not to allow the teams to use them. So Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber will start the race on tyres that have much less grip. They will be slow and probably have to stop early. If they want to change tyres, they have to start from the pits. Lewis Hamilton and Jaime Alguersuari also have blisters - but only on one tyre, we believe."

Good, glad they aren't allowed to use them. serves them right for blistering them :P
They can change them before the start anyway, if they want to start from the pits :D
 
Thank goodness it looks like the original story was false, would have been a complete joke if the FIA let Red Bull and Mclaren change tyres because they decided to step over the limits of the recommendations.

Going to be an interesting start if the front 2 both have blistered tyres!

i wouldnt of been suprised if they had got it tbh.

if your worried for your drivers safety change them now and start from the pit.

Not really, showed it from different angles and DC said it was on purpose. But didn't really examine the punishments or explain them.
