Ben Shapiro v Andrew Neil

He also seems to get confused as to whether he believes in 'naturalistic explanations'....

Just finished the Andrew Neil video - lost for words.

Isn't our right wing pretty their left wing?
By current American Standards both Bush's were at best middle of the road, and Reagan was positively a communist.

They drove out most of their older, more respectable and reasonable politicians (and those with any shred of integrity) years ago for not being right wing enough, and willing to compromise at times for the good of the country.

It was a really poor interview, all the things he brought up have been brought up before and done to death, wasted opportunity for an interesting debate. Not surprised Andrew Neil hasn't heard of Shapiro though, probably time for him to go.

And the Democrats are positively paragons of sanity with key players /presidential candidates endorsing things like reparations, de facto abandonment of borders and mass central authoritarian control (via the supposed 'green new deal')

And outside of your imagination more sober assessments, conducted over decades, confirm that it is the Democrat base that are the ones who have far more strongly veered to the extremes on their side

LOL!

So Ben Shapiro admits that he didn't do his research and apologises for calling AN a lefty...and your takeaway is that AN didn't do his research.

Outstanding :p

My take away is that I've seen all the things Andrew brought up before and it's shocking that Andrew hadn't heard of Shapiro before he did preparation for this interview, considering he's an interviewer for the BBC and Shapiro is very well known.

Where's the apology for calling him a lefty?

Neither was great in this interview ...

The democrats have all the new ideas....?!

What ideas Neil?

Oh that's right lots of free stuff and mass central planning and power concentration (this time to avert an alleged enviromental catastrophe) ...

Yep that's original for the left....

Who is "the left" in this situation?

Who is "the left" in this situation?

Well the Democrats as they are the ones with prominent thought leaders and /or presidential candidates endorsing things like centralised, socialised planning and mass wealth redistribution based on supposed grievances.

As my previously posted graph shows its the democratic base that are the ones principally skewing to the extremes of poltics and this is quite a recent trend.

Define well-known. I’d never heard of him.
Why should Andrew Neil have heard of some right-wing blogger?

Yup. The Democrats under Clinton would have been less centrist than May’s Tories. It’s why Bernie was thrown under the campaign bus.

I don't think the DNC needed any reason to throw Bernie under the bus other than he was in Hillary's way.

But also yes.

I disagree with Shapiro on a lot topics, but do enjoy listening to him when he’s on Rogan or The Ruben Report for example.

I’m less interested in his daily show, he’s unashamedly biased and is clearly playing to a certain audience in that instance. It’s interesting to hear a conservative perspective on current events but there’s only so much I can take. :p

I don’t think Andrew Neil’s questioning was particularly good for the reasons already stated ITT but I’ve never seen Shapiro lose it like that.

Fair play for his response after the event though. That’s one thing I like about him, he’s not afraid to admit when he’s made a mistake or changed his mind on something he’s previously said — the same can’t be said for many other people. Most people either try and deny or double-down.

He's very well known, Andrew Neil is a professional Political interviewer, he should definitely be aware of him if he stays on top of current affairs, particularly since Trump was elected
