Ben Shapiro v Andrew Neil

I think what we don't know in this case and Farage is what they were told the interview was going to be about.

If the BBC baited them with the idea they would be able to express their message but instead had no intention but to get them to answer for a list of out of context historical one liners then I can see why they would be angry.

The result - Existing supporters will just compound their idea the BBC has a bias. People on the far left will say it was a victory over extremism. But most sad is that those in the middle learn nothing in particular to move the debate on and just think...meh

I posted it in the motors section in December if you care to look.

In that case, why the five post back and forth exchange trying to avoid saying what it was? Indeed, now we're up to six with you declining to simply say. Humour me, then - what sort of car do you drive? :D

E200 estate.

So - a Mercedes E-class? After all that? :D :D :D :D :D

So if anyone wonders what this bizarre tangent is about, a while back Vincent made a whole bunch of personal assumptions about me (and not pleasant ones). I briefly returned the favour by suggesting he drove a BMW, not that there's anything wrong with that except if you're pretending to be oh-so salt-of-the-Earth as was the case at the time. I actually deleted the reply within a couple of minutes but VH had already seen it and replied a little huffily about how they don't actually even own a car. The wording was a little suspicious so a bit more poking and they declared they merely drove a car provided by the company. A bit more poking again and it turned out they owned the company. I'd have dropped it except the wording was increasingly weasely in trying to subtly avoid saying what they drove. So mystery solved. Now - is this a gotcha question or "merely political journalism"? Because it is, after all, pushing on something irrelevant to the subject and from some time ago, purely to create an impression of the person speaking irrelevant to what their answers may actually be, and VH seems to think this is "political journalism". :D

You'll have to quote it back to me, as I don't think I'd have said I drive a company car when I emphatically don't.

You lease a car for work but it's not paid for through the company? Anyway, this is off-topic, which is kind of the point like doing character attacks on Ben Shapiro when he came on to talk about his new book. That and my amusement after all that. :D

I find you irritating.

Oooooooh, handbags on Monday, love it!

Look, I've stated my opinions and beliefs, if you can't come to terms with that then what are you hoping to achieve? I'm not going to change my opinions so I'm not sure where you're going with this apart from bickering for the sake of bickering, which seems to be evident based on all your posts on this page.

This would seem an unusual avenue for you to go down :) I'm thinking of a very specific thread - can you tell what it is yet?

It goes back to when they made some very personal accusations about me rather than responding to my actual argument. But point taken.

I'm just pointing out that you're using logical fallacies whilst calling your opponent an idiot for not accepting them. Nothing more.

So basically for the first time Shapiro had an actual interview where he was shown up and not the usual easy FOX news stuff he only ever does?

Imagine dragging up Tweets from 7 years ago when you came on a show to discuss your latest book and then people thinking you were destroyed. It's like Russell Brand going on a show to promote his new stand up comedy show and someone bringing up the whole Sachsgate thing, it's a silly thing to do

Nobody cares about his ******* book, this isn’t America, we shouldn’t interview people just to promote their business in some genitalia fondling sycophantic show of pitiable drivel.

They should be subverted at every opportunity, sometimes it ends up like that R Kelly interview, train wreck, pure hilarity, a broken lying **** shown for who they really are.

Just buy his book if you love him so much.

Shapiro literally makes his living in talks from doing that.
Although anything he digs up he will warp completely out of context to fit his argument.
