benchmark software for ext. hdd for windows and mac?

hi guys,

i'd really like to compare the read/write speeds of my external hard drive across my two platforms... does anyone know of any software the has both a mac and windows version to do a simple reliable speed check?

if you dont know of a mac one, just recommend me an accurate windows one and i'll sort the mac one seperately...
