That's not really relevant though - whether you intend to conduct your job search there or not you're still required to go there if you want to claim.
Yeah, I realise that - but the ones interested in actually getting a job are in and out as quick as possible so they can get on with sending out CVs etc.

People moan about job centre staff being grumpy and rude. I don't blame them when they have to deal with this lot. Why should you be polite to someone when all they do is think you are a stuck up snob for daring to have a job and then start calling you names as soon as they leave the building.
You could flip that round and ask why should you be rude to someone who is cooperative and helpful?
The jobcentre staff I've had the displeasure of dealing with have either been extremely rude, unhelpful, and either liars, or utterly incompetent, for example telling you the wrong date/time for your next sign-on, so that you miss your appointment and get sanctioned... (thankfully we had written evidence of the fact we'd been given the wrong time). If this had happened once, I would have passed it off as a mistake, but 3 times in a row?!
