** BeQUIET PSU's - GREAT DEALS & SILENCE!! **

Enhance Elctronics are good.

And yes our top of the range Antec PSU's are the cream of the crop with Delta.

Seasonic is good, but Delta are number 1.

Nope... Corsair don't use Delta at all. Corsair use Flextronic.

PSU debates seems to be becomming quite common lately :p.

AX760 and AX860 models are Seasonic. AX860i and 760i are Flextronics. Then some other models are CWT and Flextronics. No Delta models however.

Reason I got my AX860 at a very good price.

Please improve the braiding, it just looks cheap.

Think i would rather have seasonic or corsair for my psu had a fsp made psu in the past did not last long

My Zalman is a FSP built unit and has been going strong since 2008.

Great thanks, seems to be of very good quality and very quiet (which reflects my experience )

Cheers ;)

I have the 600W silent pro gold (modular) and it's been brilliant :). Very quiet, very stable, great reviews and can apparently handle much more than it's specified output without any adverse effects. It was a bit pricey compared to some other 600W PSUs, but it screams quality and is gold rated .

I usually stick with Delta or LiteOn when it comes to replacing laptop PSUs.

Well guys I must say that I really like mine (standard 240 with orange fluid). Found it to be 3 or 4c better under load with my [email protected]/1.26v with the pump at 5v for low noise operation.

Please note that this seems to be an extremely good chip though. Keeps it at about 60c with liquid metal applied when being stressed (and after an hour of BF4 no core goes over 50c)

Mine is not a typical situation though ;) Overall I'm pleased with my purchase, and it looks cool as hell!!

That sounds like a great PSU!

Does anyone have one of these and can comment on how quiet the fan is? The 750 I've just received has a fan with a definite buzzing quality. I was expecting it to be near silent apart from air noise because it is supposed to use a fluid bearing, but mine, though quiet, definitely has a buzz that's noticeable in a quiet room. It's like a small external PSU or a florescent light. Is that normal for these PSUs?

If yes then I'd say its normal. I've noticed that fans which have a higher max rpm rating tend to have more bearing noise at lower rpms.

Regardless though... almost all fans even those with fluid dynamic bearings do make some noises other than airflow if the ambient is quiet enough to hear it.

Yeah, it's pretty much that "rrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhh" sort of noise. It's quiet, but I notice it. The weird thing is that their Silent Wings 2 fans used in the PSU seem to not have this tone when outside the PSU.

I've probably been spoiled by my years of Noctua use, but they really don't do this at all. I was hoping that Be Quiet's fans using a fluid bearing would be just as quiet as the Noctuas, but they are really not, at least mine isn't in this PSU.

The fan used in the powerzone 750w psu is different than the silent wings 2 sold separately. It's rated up to 2600rpm while the 140mm silent wings 2 has a max of 1000rpm. Like I said, fans rated at higher speeds are usually louder at lower rpm's, probably due to differences in the bearing which let it run at those higher speeds without sacrificing lifespan.

Fluid dynamic bearing is a general term... there can still be many differences in the bearing. I've used a lot of fluid dynamic bearing fans and they all sound different. From my experience the silent wings 2 are the best.

I'll keep the PSU for the time being and see how it goes for a while, as I've only been using it for a couple of days. Be Quiet have offered to swap the PSU, but I don't want to do it if I just get another one with the same tone to it, if that's the way they are supposed to be.
