Berlin is a fantastic place. Absolutely loads of history and yet still a very modern city.
Some places I'd recommend:
-The East Side Gallery. It's a long section of the wall that was preserved, and is now covered in really awesome political artwork. There are other parts of the wall that are also preserved, including a section with a watchtower and no-man's land.
-The TV tower (awesome views)
-The Reichstag: The parliament building. Old architecture with a modern Norman Foster designed dome that you can walk up inside.
-Brandenburg Gate and Parisier Platz. You can see the hotel window that Michael Jackson famously held his baby out of.
Also you can get free walking tours from here that are excellent.

Get your hands on some currywurst, it's phenomenal. I can't really remember the names of the pubs/clubs that I went to, but there are plenty around and all very diverse and unique (I went to one which was actually someones house).
I found the book burning memorial to be very moving and poignant, though my pal didn't quite appreciate it. Don't accidently wonder into the grounds of the US embassay like we did, the soldiers are fairly inquisitive!

Naa, even I have to admit it was really the prooving ground for Wolfgang's Bratty Wagon, the only vehicle that could go where no British AV could

You know the little satay sticks with sauwce that you get in morrisons, its the exact flavour as the currywurst sauwce you get.
Fully agree that he should have a few, they were amazing!
Just do the generally touristy stuff and go to a few good pubs/bars.
Definitely go up the Reichstag, it's amazing to think this is how it looked at the end of the war:

You sound like you've been on the sauce!
But, if I'm in Morrison's I shall check them out.
The Reichstag was good, as was Berlin in general. I enjoyed just wandering round, seeing the Fernsehturm, getting the tram to the old stasi prison (I think it was Hohenschönhausen Memorial Center), and the Cathedral ( I think it was actually called the 'Supreme Parish and Collegiate Church' looking at google)... I liked just walking/public transporting round Berlin in general, thought it was a great place, even if the reason I was there was a school trip to learn more about the Holochaust, and Soviet stuff.

How much is a metro pass for the day?
Is there a main area of bars and pubs?
Any good German Beer Halls I could frequent in the evenings?

The metro pass for 3 days I think was 15 euros or something like that, I might be completely wrong though.
Potzdammer Platz is the kinda central area now which has lots of bars and hotels and restaurants, its within walking distance of Brandenburg gate and other tourist attractions.
I really enjoyed Berlin,I thought it would have cost more being a capital city,found it very reasonable,the german people were helpfull and friendly.
