Oh no! Really sad about this one. He was one of the faces regularly on TV when I was growing up. RIP.

Theatre and film actor, TV star, Top ten performer, comedian, what did he not do in the entertaining business.

A long and full career. Good bloke too.

Bernard was one of those actors who seemed to be all over the place when I was younger, although often in voice rather than on screen.

RIP

RIP, wonder if they filmed all his scenes for the Dr Who special.

Genuinely saddened by this news. I'm 51 next week and grew up with a lot of his work when I was younger. And then when my son was born in 2011 a short while later it was his turn to be captivated by Bernard in 'Old Jacks Boat' which my little lad absolutely adored. Bernard had a face, character and demeanour that made you smile as soon as he appeared on screen. As others have said, decent innings though at 93 years of age. RIP.
