Bernard Cribbins, star of The Railway Children and Doctor Who, dies aged 93

Another one of the Carry On cast gone, he was in Carry on Jack in one of the main roles and Carry on Spying RIP
It just hit me that he's the guy in carry on jack and spying. It's never clicked in my head that it's the same bloke, watched the carry on films loads aswell from beginning to end. Kinda obvious looking at the pictures side by side I thought it was a random who I've never seen in anything else. I dont want to go to sea! nice desk job.

RiP

One of my all-time favourites has passed away at the age of 93. Those who grew up in the 60's or 70's would certainly know of him, he was in some fairly recent Doctor Who's too, RIP Bernard.

Keep up at the back there….

Rewatched the Railway Children last night, a great actor who seemed to have reached many different generations.

R.I.P.

Wombles as a child was a daily delight - RIP - haven't looked if he did do more childs narration in later life.
( not sure about associating himself with the latest Who we'll see )

he was a legend and a mainstay of my childhood. that said he had a good innings and if I make it to my 90s as healthy as him I will consider that a win. apparently as nice a bloke offscreen as he came across on screen. I actually had a rediscovery of him recently as my toddler watched old jack's boat a few years back.
