Nah, once someone listens to the "with the lights out" cash in of demos and unreleased track, you finally realise how crap cobains voice, lyrics and music actually was, and this is from a self confessed first way grunge fanboi.

as mentioned above, Nirvana Unplugged In New York.

also Tommy Emmanuel's 'Only' he just happens to be the best acoustic guitarist ive ever seen :D well.. maybe.

Eric Clapton - Unplugged

So true...

Also Nirvana Unplugged *the only Nirvana album I can stomach..*
R.E.M. Unplugged *if you can find it*
The Very Best of MTV Unplugged
The Cure - Unplugged

Actually - pretty much any of the MTV Unplugged sessions are great.

it isnt really. i like bleach. but they're so overrated, sometimes i kill babies over it. he WASNT a great songwriter. he WASNT a great singer. he WASNT a great guitarist. he was a hack with a good bit of marketing behind him.

Alanis Morriset's MTV unplugged is good.
The second disk of Incubus' Make yourself is good (all acoustic tracks)
Most of my collection has been mentioned already.
Try Bert Jansch - an amazing guitarist from the 60's that, in my opinion directly influenced Jose Gonzalez. You can hear the similarities in the bass progressions and the melodies.
Dave Matthews Band Live stuff is good; Acoustic version of space between is beautiful.
Brendan Brenson great voice, very catchy.
In the same vein as Jack Johnson:
G. Love, Donavon Frankenreiter and Ben Harper
Ed Harcort very chilled :)
Howie Day
Alexi Murdoch - did the 'Orange Sky' song on the original OC soundtrack.

That should do you.

As a total Alanis hater....
I enjoyed her unplugged session

Yet to see a terrible Unplugged either to be honest...

Even Rod Stewart unplugged was a good show...

However - just thought of another studio album that was great:

Jewel - Spirit

Very mellow and she's really good live too. *Albert Hall a couple of years ago*
