Its at least 400 times better than any of the stuff he's done recently. Very raw, very acoustic and damn good album.

anyone who suggests Jack Johnson should check out the Curious George soundtrack! Full of morals about recycling and sharing, but its a good listen all the same!

Alanis Morriset's MTV unplugged is good.
The second disk of Incubus' Make yourself is good (all acoustic tracks)
Most of my collection has been mentioned already.
Try Bert Jansch - an amazing guitarist from the 60's that, in my opinion directly influenced Jose Gonzalez. You can hear the similarities in the bass progressions and the melodies.
Dave Matthews Band Live stuff is good; Acoustic version of space between is beautiful.
Brendan Brenson great voice, very catchy.
In the same vein as Jack Johnson:
G. Love, Donavon Frankenreiter and Ben Harper
Ed Harcort very chilled

Alexi Murdoch - did the 'Orange Sky' song on the original OC soundtrack.
