Thermalright not Thermaltake but I would recommend that too, or the Peerless Assassin.

Hmm. Just mulling over options. Think I'll probably look at doing a CPU/Mobo/Ram upgrade in the near future and I'll want something to replace the alpenfohn ben nevis I have on my current 3600

I am happy to report that the Thermalright Phantom Spirit can handle the 5800X3D with only one fan in the middle. CB R23 topped out at just under 85C in a 22C room, mounted in a 4000D Airflow.
Under full load, the single fan is audible but not annoying. I'm sure it would be quieter with the second fan installed, but it looks better with just the middle fan installed, so I'm leaving it like that.

TLDW: Slightly better than the Peerless Assassin and best overall CPU cooler. Also confirms that their original Peerless Assassin review had inaccurate noise testing and is actually much quieter than the original review.

Eddie, which Thermalright cooler would you suggest right now for the 5800x3D, RAM clearance is expected.
I refuse to splash out over 100 notes on an air cooler so the high end Noctuas etc aren't tempting me.

The phantom spirit t is It's the newer version of the Peerless and comes with one extra heatpipe but they perform simmlar.

It's a bit better than the Peerless Assassin, about on par with the Frost Spirit 140, however the Frost Spirit is much bigger which has some downsides and I also don't like that it has two different fans.
