Dark Rock Pro 4 is a solid cooler. Only make sure if the outside fan needs to be fitted offset, the few millimetres doesn't stop it fitting in the case. My previous Phanteks P400S was a "hair thin" distance between the offset fan and the side panel.

Any thoughts on the Alpenfohn Ben Nevis CPU Cooler?
Ben Nevis is not back but I think the Alpenfohn Matterhorn or Brocken for only a few quid more are much better. Matterhorn is out of stock but there is a Brocken 3 B-grade for £29.99

Don't get Brockenm 2 special PCGH edition becuase it's fans are 700rpm maximum speed .. not much faster than idle speed of most cooler fans. Brockenm has 5x 6mm heatpipes so with normal 400-1800rpm fan it's capable of cooling about 220w TDP compared to Ben Nevis rating of 150w.

Have the Ben Nevis installed at the moment and thinking of moving from a 1600x to a 3600. Was wondering if what I had would do the job

Ah, should be fine then! The 1600x is around 24-30c at idle.
As String said, idle temp doesn't mean much. Temp when both CPU and GPU are working hard is what is important. System with good airflow reaches peak temp in 3-5 minutes of high load being applied, so if your system keeps getting hotter for 20-30+ minutes you case airflow probably needs improvement. You might find below link is to basic guide of how airflow works and how to optimize case airflow helpful:
