Best Batteries?

if you want an example of a high-drin appliance, my fuji s5500 will take ~10 pictures with flash using 4 duracell ultra's before showing the low battery warning. by 15 pics its dead. On 4x 2500mAh rechargeables, i can take ~250 pictures....

It's true rechargeables generally perform better in high drain applications. This is because they have a lower internal resistance which means when they are presented with a high drain load less power is wasted as heat from the batteries themselves. Certain batteries are better for different things. For the mouse, lithium would be good but I haven't seen rechargeable AA types (any idea why?).

Energizer Ultimate Lithium kick arse!

I was always having trouble with my digital camera batteries being woeful and only lasting a week tops (Duracell et al) until I put a couple of those bad boys in it; three months of useage and still going strong. I have them in my Apple Mighty Bluetooth Mouse and thye have been working flat out since September and they still show full charge. :)

Ahh I remember Powercell, cheap batteries where you can buy 20 or so for £1.
Use to use it with my old MP3 Player, it would work for 20mins and I would need to change the batteries again.

Yeah, those are the ones. I didnt realize they were that bad. Had them for ages laying around in a cupboard somewhere... still as long as they last me to monday so that I can get to a shop. I have been turning my mouse off whenever I leave my PC lol.

duracells in my MS wireless mouse, last about 3 months a go I'd say. Not bad, don't last too long in my digital camera, maybe 100 pics with flash. I don't use it often though so not an issue. I did once try cheap batteries in it and it took 1 picture with flash then died.

Yeah they are that bad. At least you realised that now, I thought it was my MP3 Player that was power hungry as its getting old.(bear in mind that i was 13, altho i guess thats still no excuse :o :p )

Get 4x 2500mAh rechargable batteries, and a charger.

Charge all four, then use two. When the 1st pair die, charge them while using the 2nd pair.

Might be an idea to pair the batteries together, too.

yep i got the energizer superb!!

My Dell (logitech oem?) mouse and keyboard have standard energisers in, the keyboard ones have never been changed (Jan last year, so almost done a year), and the mouse ones go every 2 or 3 months. And I get 100 energisers for £11.75, so peanuts :D
