100%I did this last time around, my outgoing PS4 was 95% used as a media player (Netflix & Blu-ray) so was just a waste of money. I just need a decent Blu-ray player to replace it rather than a console as I'm really not a console gamer.
If you're an avid console gamer, you'd probably be using a PS5/XBox-X anyway and it'd not really be worth getting a dedicated Blu-ray player IMO (unless you're looking high end for a cinema room of course).
