Normally yes, but so far I have not heard anything from the OCUK mods.

I think at this stage I dont hold much hope.

Great thread

I invested a good sum in a Coolermaster ATC-110 many years ago and it's still my PC case today. I'll be using it for my next build although I've a PowerMac Dual G5 tower here on its last legs (logic board dying on one cpu) which I'm tempted to use, though any mods may be beyond my skills. IMO construction wise the G5 case is in a league of its own.

The Shortlist:

Silverstone TJ07
Coolermaster ATC-201
Akasa Eclipse/Omega
Lian Li V1000+
Antec Super Lanboy
Globalwin 802
Corsair Obsidian 800D
Apple Power Mac G5 / Mac Pro
Mountain Mods U2 UFO
Chieftec Dragon

You could hackintosh the G5 but its a lot of work so be prepared!

Antec P160w & Gigabyte 3D Aurora should also (IMO) be on the list.

Really liked & wanted the Antec Super Lanboy during its time. But my vote would go to... Coolermaster Black Widow

I have owned a Coolermaster ATCS-200 which I bought when it was first released back in 2002, housing no less than 4 or 5 completely different generations of hardware. Over the years it has been abused significantly.. having to cut away aluminium sections to allow ever more powerful power supply's to fit. It has lasted for 8 years, but time came to replace for a quieter system (only space to house 80mm fans).

Finally I have replaced it with a Corsair 800D.

The Corsair 800D does not touch the ATC-200 for sheer craftsmanship however it certainly is a fine case. Lots and lots of room, almost silent running (replaced all default fans with Noctua fans). Runs very cool, and looks ominously stunning!

For build purposes the 800D is by far the easiest case to install into I have ever used. I had just finished building a system in an Antec 902 case for a friend and although it is a nice case it really is not even in the same playing field as the 800D (price included!).

So my vote goes to the 800D. Costs a great deal but I fully expect to get 5 or more years use out of this case which makes the cost argument less important.

The 800d is not the best when it come to air cooling though ? and lol at people voting their own latest cases.
The antec p18*** series should be on any shortlist I have to say and I don't own one I own an akasa eclipse.

The 800d apparently isnt a great case for air cooling, i do love my current Lian Li A70F, but my all time favourite is the akasa eclipse 62, so good i bought two, yep its a bit plain, it can rattle a bit, but the sheer width and space of it is amazing, its the first case i ever seen an sli setup in, and the cards fitted with ease, best removeable mobo tray as well, able to mount a big cooler such as the TRUE on the tray outside the chassis and slide it back in without a hiccup, still have both of my eclipses.

doesnt it get really dusty?

No, not a bit mate, even added a kama bay in the 5.25 bays for extra intake, keep a tidy room and youll have no bother with dust.;)
