Incase people dont know EA have released Red Alert on Freeware, you have to go through a bit of hassle as its designed for windows 95 but still, free game
Oddly I like Tiberan Sun, in RA1 you just built heavy tans or mamoth tanks, RA2 you could just win with prism tanks (longer range than towers) and a few IFvs for air defense.
Tib Sun you couldn't do that, Tic Tanks and Titans wern't amazing, you had to use artillery or be more tactical with carryalls and a mammoth or cyborg commando in the sub apc.
Why was C&C3 so poo
RA2 was ace also, especially with Uris revenge, it had some crazy units. I hope RA3 is as good.
The first one was a classic and will always be the best in that sense. Red Alert would be the best for multiplayer as it was the first to have Skirmish mode.
This makes no sense, generals is the only game in the entire franchise that actually did something new... my problem with c&c is since the first game over a decade ago nothing has changed, the difference between c&c and c&c3 is graphics, thats it the gameplay hasn't changed at all... Now people may say it doesn't need to as it is amazing, but personally i think things have moved on
So for me i would go with Zero hour for its multiplayer and mixing it up a bit, followed by red alert, which is what got me into rts games in the first place
Oh come on, it's not the best you're just showing off how old you are.
I'd forgotten about it, from the days of games on floppy disks. It was good but annoying and there were a few bugs, but that could be because I was playing the version for the Acorn.
The horribly inaccurate rocket launchers used to really wind me up!
