Best console for a 6 & 9 yr old?

I’ll go against the grain.

unless they have friends that are playing Fortnite, Roblox and Minecraft (which is HIGHLY likely) then take a look at Google Stadia.

Stadia has become my go too gaming platform, and my 7yr old son loves Crayta

Stadia is free to try for a month, and premier bundle which includes a Chromecast Ultra and Stadia controller is cheaper than any console too.

Switch if only for the proper parental controls it has and the app you install on your phone.

Plus most of the games are nice kid friendly.

I bought my two girls a Wii U and a hdd full of games for £120 back in February before the lockdown all kicked off ....... Best money ever spent! They love it.
Pretty sure when the lockdown dies down they'll drop back down.

Big Stadia fan here, got the Premier Edition at Christmas. I can't really see a young kid enjoying it though TBH. Only games that come to mind are Crayta, Stacks on Stacks and Get Packed.

Wouldn’t that be enough though? Crayta and Get Packed alone are keeping my son and his cousins occupied on a rainy day, Get Packed is great fun! I’m loving the couch co-op with my son

I have an Xbox One so over lockdown I introduced a couple of games to my 6 year old daughter, she loves the Disneyland game and Pixar game (were and maybe still included in gamepass). Quite good for getting to grips with different aspects of controlling in different games i.e Some Platformer/Some Driving etc and no mater how carp you are you still seem to be able to collect coins so she feels like shes achieving something still.

Most the comments here clearly dont have kids. Ps4 .

-God knows how many lego games from Avengers, to Ninjago to Jurassic World, etc
-Lego Worlds
-Ratchet and Clank (brilliant)
-Rayman Legends
-Knack 1 and 2
-Plants Vs Zombies GW2 and battle For Neighborville
-Star Wars Jedi Outcast (for the older one)
-Crash Bandicute N Sane Trilogy
-Spiderman

My 3 and 6 year old have played (and enjoyed) most of those games. Lego ones are a definite hit, I'm just waiting on the skywalker saga.

We have a PS4, go to's are Minecraft and Rayman mostly. They loved Lego Jurassic park.

The Switch is great for kids especially as they can take it out of the house too, however in comparison to Xbox and PS4 it is the most expensive and the games are generally more expensive too. Game Pass on Xbox is brilliant value and there are kids games on there plus on the free games you get with Gold, 2nd hand games are pretty reasonable too. I'd say if you're going to make use of the portability factor then go with the Switch, if not I'd go for an Xbox.
