Best console-style gamepads for the PC?

360 pad Wired/Wireless, they are awesome, and with all the ports comming accross most of them have the 360 pad setup as default.

I use a Saitek P990 or something its pretty much a ps2 controller. i put the 360 wired one in and it said some error code and so wouldn't recognise it.

You got the drivers from MS website? My pads have always worked fine in several rigs.

Get a ps2 pad for any footy game, it blows the 360 pad away. Any other game (that doesn't rely on d-pad or buttons) get a 360 pad.

The only games I use a pad for are football or fighting. (Fifa, Tekken etc).

I've got two ps2 replica pads. Got them from a computer game retailer shop. They've been fine for the odd occasion I play fifa on the laptop.

xbox 1 pads work fine i have loads of old ones just rewire an old usb wire and connect to pad connector so easy to do just twiddle the colours together.

Well you could, but i've never heard anyone say the original xbox pads (or even the s pads) are better than the 360 pads, which you can plug into a pc without fiddling with it.

I use a Saitex P2500 myself, it's never put a foot wrong for me yet.
Had a Saitek P2500 rumble pad for a few years myself. Nice textured grip on top of the sticks. Only 2 shoulder trigger buttons but two extra on top over most others. Might get the P2600 sometime just for those extra shoulder buttons.

I have the P2600, it is totally handy for FIFA, FSX times etc :)
