Best Controller Ever?

my problem with the n64 controller is the analogue stick. placement was fine, but it could get painful, as it wore at the thumb. Thats my main gripe with the 360 d pad, trying using it for fighting games and you'll get a very sore thumb lol.

I use to have a Kempston joystick for my ZX Spectrum back in somewhere around 1982-1984

And a cheetah joystick..

Can't remember which joysticks I was using for my Commodore 64,Amiga & Atari ST

360 easily takes the crown.

Honourable mention to the original duke controller and also the N64 controller.
 
360 has a terrible d-pad

DS3 has terrible R2/L2

I think I would have to say the 360 pad, I've played with a few older ones recently (Megadrive/Dreamcast) Dreamcast wasn't bad but got a bit top heavy with a vmu and rumble pack plugged in!
 
I despise fighting games.

So the 360 controller is perfect for me. So natural to hold.

I really don't like the PS3 pad, as much as I would like to, not because of the placement or anything, but I find the triggers spongy and after extended play my fingers always seem to slip off the analog sticks. Where as the 360 pad really seems like an extension of my hands.
 
Although I have never used it, the Dreamcast controller is amazing to hold, it looks bulky and huge, but when you hold it, it just molds to your hands so well :)

I do also love this controller, the only thing it lacks is proper triggers:

Since I am getting more into fighting games, I'm going to have to say that for comfort and ease of use for its' purpose, arcade sticks would get my vote as the best, as even though I haven't used any, I play SSF4 AE with my keyboard set up in a similar style, and the only improvement that I can think from it is having a joystick to move instead of the arrow keys, so arcade sticks are getting my vote, but if I could only vote on one stock stick, I'd go for this one (in the xbox 360 model) :)

Be nice if they made a atari yoke controller. Most natural fluid controller, fun i ever had.

My favourite conventional controller would be the small 6 button megadrive pad, the one with the red start button.

Plays sensible soccer like a demon:)
 
DS3 followed by the SNES pad.

I am cannot play modern fighting games as none of the controllers are up to it.

SNES pad+ SF2 turbo.
 
Dreamcast - although trying to play Q3:Arena on it* is a lesson in anger management.

*I don't know how but when I was younger I was able to play Q3:Arena perfectly on it. Now I just run everywhere either looking at the ceiling or the floor.
