Which is the best program to defragment?

I recently used smart defrag, but heard that other ones are better.

So which ones are the best for my system?

thanks

I have never really noticed much of a difference between them tbh. Lately I have been using Defraggler.

Another vote for Defraggler.

Although, they all do a decent enough job. Some people prefer to use the Windows defragger due to it's simplicity.

O&O. Been using it for years and nothing else comes close.

It aint free though.

slightly off topic - but Mancubus - Did you used to be called Doom years ago on ocuk? I remember a funny pic of someone called doom on rogues gallery in a room with cannabis posters dotted around

I'm geniunely curious, what exactly does O&O do differently to say Defraggler or the in-built Windows defrag that makes it so much better and worth paying for?

Or is it a placebo effect because you've paid for it?

Well for one it looks nicer :) But really moving os files to the fastest part of the platter is all a good paid for defrager will do that the one built into windows won't. Well, that and on the fly defragging, with windows you set it to run on a schedule while something like diskeeper is installed then forgot about.

For the latter function you have to pay for, and it's horribly overpriced.

I use the windows built in one. With the speed of hard drives today I don't think a paid for one will be any better performance wise.
