Windows built-in. More than plenty. Moving OS files to the fastest part of the platter? Don't talk crap. Outside of benchmarks I bet no one could tell the difference in performance. Most oft-used OS files are held in RAM anyway.
People still defrag?
slightly off topic - but Mancubus - Did you used to be called Doom years ago on ocuk? I remember a funny pic of someone called doom on rogues gallery in a room with cannabis posters dotted around
When I was using a mechanical hard drive, I didn't need worry about having to manually defragment my hard drive and simply let Windows Vista / Windows 7 defragment my disk on the predefined schedule and the system was running absolutely fine. The amount of maintenance you need to perform on a Windows Vista or a Windows 7 based system can be kept to a minimal if you practice smart usage habits from the very beginning. You don't need any of these third-party applications that you can get a hold off left, right and center these days to keep your system running in an optimal way.

Why would you need to defrag an SSD?
Its electronic pathways, not physical mechanical spindles which spin to allow access.
Which is the best program to defragment?
I recently used smart defrag, but heard that other ones are better.
So which ones are the best for my system?
thanks
i just use the one on windows 7seems to be good enough. then i use ccleaner to clean my pc up...
