Best Film of the Year 2023

1) Sound of Freedom

If that had come from a mainstream production company it would have been blockbuster.

It did £248m as it was. I'd encourage you to watch it, if you haven't seen it. It's a hard watch though.

2) Godzilla Minus One is the other stand out for me this year.

3) MI Dead Reckoning was my favourite main-line blockbuster for easy enjoyable entertainment.

Transformers Rise of the Beasts
Dungeons and Dragons
John Wick 4
The Flash

Were enjoyable and I've rewatched since streaming release.

I found Blue Beetle, Fast X, GotF3, Indiana Jones, The Creator, Oppenheimer and Barbie wholly forgettable.

Poor year for movies:

MI: Dead Reckoning, GotG3 and JW 4. Indy wasn't awful and The Flash wasnae bad. So MI for me.

Spiderverse was turd.

For me the best film I went to the cinema to watch would be Oppenheimer.
Wished I lived in London, BFI Imax screening would have been amazing..

Just renewed my unlimited card this morning, at least the price hasn't gone up this year!

Very very weak year for films :(

Probably the worst I've ever known.

A handful of ok films and a pile of fetid garbage.

Mainly agree with this, I can't think of many films that stand out for me right off the bat. Considering I go 2 or 3 times a week, that's pretty poor.

I'd probably say it's THE THREE MUSKETEERS: PART I - D'ARTAGNAN really enjoyed that and looked forward to the second part which I watched last week. Didn't think it was quite as good as the first one though, hopefully theres another part!

Oppenheimer is the only film I've watched and thought I'd like to watch it again at some point.

For me, 2023 was a big flop for most entertainment; Movies, games, tech, mail-order partners..........

2 more days before I try to calculate the totals and comprehend the myriad of replies that couldn't stick to the rules in the OP :D
