I have no idea here what is the best footie game. Its a type of game I haven't gone near since owning my 360, so really haven't a clue but would like to have a play on one. I was gonna buy fifa 08 yesterday but thought id ask here first.

Any suggestions? :)

I've got both Fifa 2008 and Pro Evo 2008. Would recommend Fifa 2008 out of those two as the latter is absolutly pants :)

Football Manager 2008 is the best one IMO, but I take it you want to play as opposed to manage a team. Fifa 08 is a million miles (if not billion) ahead of Pro Evolution Soccer now, and PES2008 is probably the worst version they've ever released of it.

Euro 2008 plays a little better than Fifa 08, but of course you only get the International tournament whereas with Fifa 08 you get league and International sides.

Euro 2008, although obviously FIFA 08 offers more depth.

If you just want the playing experience then go for Euro 2008 (not that FIFA 08 is bad). It's tweaked what FIFA 08 already did very well, and gives a better stop-gap between now and FIFA 09 :)

If you want to play as a club side then go for FIFA 08.

Yeah definitely. I much prefer the game play in Euro 2008 and I am really looking forward to FIFA 09 now :)

Euro 2008 plays the best game of football out of those listed above imo

however i feel fifa 2008 is the best game overall due to the manager mode etc

Euro 2008 or Fifa 2008.

Euro for me plays a lot smoother and better but like someone said above, you only get international teams.

Footy Manager 08 is good aswell if your into footy sims.

PES2008 was okay for single player but totally lacked and sucked online.

Have they even got that sorted yet?

I did prefer Euro 08 originally but I think it lost a bit of spark that FIFA 08 has.

Therefore FIFA > Euro. I never have epic games on Euro like I do on FIFA, although a few aspects are better gameplay wise on Euro.

Very true that, I found with Euro 2008 that it gripped me when it first came out, then I lost interest with it and just kept going back to it the odd time here and there.

Where as Fifa 08, a year on and I still go back to it and it sits at the top of my pile of recently played games.

I hear they are taking the gameplay from Euro 2008 and mixing it into Fifa 09 aswell as loads of other new stuff.

So Fifa 2009 will dominate IMO

I certainly hope so. The good thing with FIFA is that no one expected it to be so good and PES08 was the game everyone was excited by.

I hope both FIFA 09 and PES don't suck this year!

Yeah, I remember at first people were saying that PES2008 was going to be better than Fifa 08, then as soon as it came out people knew we had found a good footy game.

Konami shot themselves in the foot tbh by leaving the game with lag issues and not even giving the fans a patch for the lag issues.

Just been checking out PES forums and it seems the lag issues are still there, 1 year on!

PES is a good footy game, just a shame about the online.

Either one of them you really cannot go wrong. But overall my vote goes to Fifa 2008.

Only reason being is due to the game modes, overall gameplay, teams, manager mode and online play. Fifa 08 will defo keep you busy until Fifa 2009 :)
