Best FPS for PC?

True this, im going through both again currently, gearing up for Crysis 2 XD They really are great games. I havent played Crysis Wars (The multiplayer version you get with Warhead) since release, but I remember it was pretty fun then!

should try a playthrough on delta difficulty, the aliens are a real nightmare! even those frail little ones, they almost insta-kill you if they touch you! :D
 
Don't play any of this modern noobified rubbish. :p Play a proper FPS like Quake Live. Although if you "love" the call of duty games I doubt that will happen, since the only good ones are 1 and 2.

You should play BC2 based on your taste.

PS. Don't get Crysis solely for multiplayer, it's worth getting for singleplayer though.
 
Whilst there isn't a great amount of players, Unreal Tournament 3 is pretty awesome now it has been patched heavily. Version 2 is what should have been released when it first came out.

I've ordered Black Ops & Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for now, I'll buy Modern Warfare 1 from a local games shop since I can't find many online stores that sell it.

I'm not sure about Arma 2, there's 2 versions and I can't really decide which one to get, anyone played this game?
 
Black Ops will be fine for some arcadey shooting shenanigans and it can be a lot of fun but - if you're anything like most people - it will wear thin pretty quickly. Bad Company 2 is far more meaty and will give you longevity once you get into the Battlefield way of thinking. Personally I love the game. The best of it's type out there at the moment (for this gen at least).

First thing I'd do with a shiny new PC is install Steam, buy a Valve pack for TF2 and CS etc. Then check out the mind-blowing content that Steam has to offer. Some amazing deals for everything you can think of. It's quite possible that you'll never need to do anything else ever again!

lol he wants a good PC fps game. keyword PC meaning the OP has taste and doesnt bow down to kiddies/dumbed down games and COD is one of those dumbed down kiddie games of the halo generation.

You should be ashamed of yourself mentioning that crap game to a pc user LOL
 
Section 8. Seriously underrated and underplayed game and apparently the community's grown since the Steam holiday sale. I've racked up about 60 hours on the Section 8: Prejudice beta and it's awesome (should be released within the next couple of months for about £15)

It's a lot more tactical than other online shooters, kind of like BFBC2 but far more strategic with an excellent match-by-match currency system as well as a perk/weapon upgrade system.
 
Moh Spearhead is great and still has a huge following, and BF2 is such a good game including the mods such as Project Reality althought PR is slower paced :)

Edit; Cod 2 is probably the one of the best call of duty games too

MW1 is a great game, very polished and extremely fun to play. Don't put it in the same category as MW2 and Black Ops.
