best game ending

ok so i comlpeted crysis t'other week and found it to be fun, though obvs the story hasnt ended yet, but i was pretty pleased ith the conslusion of that section of the storyline.

So today i complete cod4, great storytelling etc. Shame it was so short, i started at about tea-time and finished at 10pm with breaks etc. was still good fun though. Now concidering gunship crew as career haha =)
Anyways i was happy with the ending on that, love all the cinematic sequences, and you get to interact within them which is cool.
But just now iv finshed portal, was up to 18already but was stuck(i musta been tired =) ) and really, what a funny ending, i loved the little black mesa bits too, really interested me and loved the whole setting of it, big rusty back areas etc, kinda reminded me of the film 'the island' where its the rusty industrial workings behind the scenes of a futuristic interior.

Anyway the song during the credits, was wetting myself laughing, stole the cod4's medal already, just for the ending! Anyone got any other truly epic game endings to share, or ones that really cracked them up??

My favourite ending is probably Metal Gear Solid 3.

Cod 4 was nice indeed, with the sliding of the gun, looked amazing. Portal was great. shame it was so short, I wouldn't have minded playing a few more hours of it.
 
Just completed Crysis five minutes ago. Wasn't the best ending, though I liked the distinct lack of cheese and the fact that there's clearly going to be a sequel/series of them :)

I didn't like that non-mavity part of the game, but off topic really...
 
I quite liked the best ending of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

It was quite a nice idea, having the player wish to change the zone at the cost of his own sight.

Best though... thats a really tough question.

I thought the proper ending wasn't at the wish granter :o

*never finished it mine was bugged so i couldn't do anything other than wish granter*
 
I finished COD4 over Christmas and although the ending of the game and characters was kinda sad I thought it was a great ending because it wasnt the typical good guys win everyone is happy and everyone meets at the bar for some drinks and story telling.
