best game ending

Yeah Portal had a fantastic ending and I'm not even talking about the song here....though lets be honest it's amazing ;) From the whole oh yeah I think I've done it....wooo here comes the cake....to the quick realisation you have just been used by Glados all along and now she is going to kill ya! :o loved it! After that you have the whole her trying to convince you that the cake exists etc etc, just a fantastic ending! Brilliant game, very easy I thought at the beginning but what sold it to me was that final chapter, gaming at its best!

The ones that stand out for me, cod4's ending was a real twist, I thought it was going to be all laughs and a beer at the pub. Portals was just funny. :p

The ending for Sonic2 was cool, but I guess you're all after something more modern ;)
 
Portal & COD4 were both great.

its funny how i got attatched to the characters and felt sad when they got shot.
 
i didnt even know hwo half the chars wer, the amount of times id had to reload cos of friendly fire :D maybes i needed coloured models, i prefer the 1man army type of games tbh :p

Another vote for warcrafts RTS, forgot about them. cinematic brilliance those too.
Gunna finish ep2 tonight and dig out C+C:tib wars i recon too, jus cos of the funny cut scenes.
 
Hitman Blood Money because of the ending you just would NEVER EVER imagine :)
COD 4 is next, best storyline ever, great ending - and great final level ;)
All the Metal Gear Solid endings are excellent!
And not forgetting F.E.A.R - very good ending and cliffhanger :)
 
Can't actually remember the endings of many PC games (and I've completed around 60 in recent years). Even looking through my list of completed titles I can't remember half the endings.

Painkiller has an awesome final level, fantastic idea coupled with incredible design
