Best game of all time (all platforms)

Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox. For me, it's the most perfect action game ever created. Incredibly challenging but never cheap, the controls are perfect, the levels varied and awesome. Never bettered since IMHO.

Runners up include Mafia and Deus Ex.
 
MGS, GTA III, Ocarina of Time. Call of Duty 4. Goldeneye.

In any order for me!

MGS and GTA3 are games i played the **** out of, along with THPS3, so i guess i probably liked them most of all.

I also loved the first CoD, ducking behind cows ftw!
 
You know what I find surprising, I had never heard of OOT until I got my 3DS. Never even heard it talked about as much as Civ, Deus Ex and Final Fantasy series. And now I have it I can't play it because im waiting for repairs :(

I always thought Super Smash Bros and Mario stuff were the best Nintendo games, and never realized how much more I was missing.
 
Don't tell me you haven't played goldeneye, Diddy Kong racing, banjo kazooie, and particularly metroid prime?
 
I dont think you can really say what is the best game of all time.

I think it is much more easier to say what is the best game of all time for that particular genre. For example, OOT was a fantastic game and I appreciate it, but best game of all time? Not for me - but has a definite chance of best in that particular genre. Also Bioshock and Deus Ex (original) would be my top 2 contenders for best FPS, but best game of all time...well if I HAD to pick any it would probably be Deus Ex actually.

But then again, Deus Ex only because of the atmosphere and the story (same reasons for Bioshock). But the fun factor compared to say Grand Theft Auto, which has pretty much everything you would want to do in a game is not comparable. To pick the perfect game you would have to choose a game that has a mixture of everything - not just the best in that particular genre. Which I dont think any game has.
 
For MP Goldeneye, Timesplitters and Borderlands are personal favourites.

SP would be between Gran Turismo, GTA 3, FF8 and Dragon Quest 8.

No game has stunned me as much as when I first saw/played GTA 3 so I would have to pick that.
 
Hard one but probably has to be Ocarina of Time, followed closely by Dune 2, which imo was way ahead of its time... If that had multiplayer, no one would even be thinking of RA2.

Infact, i might try see if I still have them somewhere.
 
I think it's generally accepted and has been shown in so many polls that Ocarina Of Time is the greatest game ever made.
