well judging by reviews and benchmarks it runs it very very well and maxes it, just not with ease. slight exageration when you see the max fps is just over 60 and the mins drop around late 20's 30's

To be honest Portal 2 is one of the best looking games I've ever seen despite the fact it would easily run maxed out on just one of your GPUs at 100+ FPS! Sometimes it's not the engine, but what you do with it. Check out the high-res screenshots thread to see what I mean, and also get some other ideas for gfx show-off games.

I am sure there will be new versions of the PS3, and XBOX 360 coming soon.
Maybe they will push graphics levels then.. (to keep pace?)

Seems like there are a few new games coming out soon, hopefully they will push boundaries.

depends if you view around 2015 as soon really and I cant see the new nintendo pushing visuals that far really. rumoured to be more powerful than xbox and ps3 though

Everything is based on console hardware now (with the exception of Battlefield 3). Until we get new consoles, little will change.

It's a shame - there's a large window of opportunity for PC games to get way ahead of consoles graphically now. But it's painful to see how only DICE seem to even want to use the power available.

Metro 2033... I played it on my OLD machine on about 12 fps

and still felt amazed by the game, not only is it brilliant, the graphics completely immerse you... drooling at the thought of maxing this out with my new righ
