best games to play with a controller

been playing sleeping dogs with controller and kb/mouse, i find it just as good with a controller.
And dark souls is definite controller game.

Most modern PC game tbh - skyrim and just cause 2 are both great games with the controller. Basically anything that isn't an FPS shooter or RTS game.

when i move into my new home in a few months i will be buying a good mouse and keyboard.

would buying a mechanical keyboard be a good road to go down?

saying "xbox games" is actually a valid answer, almost every game that has come out on both xbox and pc will have a fully working control map for a gamepad or wired xbox pad.

So if you see something you like on xbox and pc you're good to go.

Skyrim plays so much better with a controller.

Yup, I've been replaying it, this time with a 360 controller and what a joy it is compared to keyboard and mouse.

I was always a keyboard and mouse stalwart really, seeing a controller as having little use on a PC but since buying mine i've found that pretty much every game I've played recently benefits from it (except L4D2). Its nice not to sit hunched over the desk and instead lie back in my comfy leather chair.

Orcs Must Die and its ilk are another type that benefits from a controller.

I found BF3 played fine with an Xbox controller on the PC. Identical buttons to the Xbox except for the spot button brought up the scoreboard instantly instead of needing to hold it for a second. I just disabled the scoreboard on that button and it was fine.

Agreed, I've also been playing the batman games again and I find it 10x easier when using a controller.

Give Trine or Trine 2 a go, they're great for sitting back with a pad. Otherwise, assassins creed or batman, or any third person game really.

playing fps games with contoller is no probs at all but IMO you will be at disadvantge online due to weaker aim compared to mouse

Super Meat Boy and lots of other platformer indie games work much better with a controller, I'd play some of those if I were you.

Recently I've been playing Sleeping Dogs and Xcom with a controller. I really didn't like Sleeping Dogs with keyboard and mouse and whilst Xcom works fine it just seems the game was designed more around a controller.
