6870 would be between the 460GTX and the 6950.

You can always tone down the AF/AA and what now and boost the fps. If you did want to reach the 45-50 mark with the same settings in those results you'd have to invest a lot more to get a SLI/Crossfire of two really good (and expensive) cards.

Don't forget you could always add another 560 ti down the line if you want more gaming power - and if your motherboard supports it.

Yes, would be using my tv wich 1920x1080

Got to remember it's a demanding game. 30FPS isn't too bad at all. If you want better performance, look into Xfiring cheaper cards as already suggested.

The downside is the power consumption (need a beefier PSU) and the heat generated.

Two 6850's in Xfire (109.99 each on this week only)

Is comparable to a GTX 580 and beats it on most counts. Click here to see

Yeah have to agree for a single card solution in that price range id go with a 560ti. If you can crossfire as said there are other options, but you dont seem to have said if your mobo supports cf/sli.

I have a 890fx with 1090t so could do crossfire.

By looking at the results on anandatech two 6870's would smoke two 6950 for aabout £40 and still only £80 more than i originally wanted to spend.

I think initially I will get one 6870 then save for another!
